JKCET Counselling 2023: JKBOPEE will conduct the JKCET 2023 counselling for the admissions to the engineering colleges in the 4th week of May 2023. The candidates need to register for the JKCET counselling through the use of application form. Providing the choice of colleges by the candidates is based in the choices of the candidate which is done at the time of registration for the counselling.
To get used to the process of providing the choices, the candidates can also attend the mock choices which will open during the 3rd week of May, 2023. The first counselling will be held in the online mode based on the rank obtained in the exam while the 2nd counselling will be held in an offline mode.
JKCET Counselling 2023 – Process
Following are the important steps of JKCET counselling 2023 the candidate needs to follow:
Step 1: Registration
The first step is the registration to the counselling by the candidates. The counselling process will be done using the application number, roll number, marks obtained and the rank of the candidate. The other details the candidate is required to fill are date of birth, category, email ID and mobile number of the candidate. This will generate a password which has to be kept safe by the candidate for future use.
Step 2: Choice filling
Next process is to fill the choices of the colleges. Here the candidate should provide the list of colleges, he wishes to take admission to in the order of preference. One should also participate in the mock choice filling, this will help to know the complete process of choice filling. One should do the process very carefully in the desired order.
Step 3: Payment of counselling fee
In the third step, the candidate is required to pay the requisite fee for attending the counselling which is Rs 1000/. The candidate can make the payment through the online mode using debit/credit card or using the Net Banking services.
Step 4: Locking of the choice
Once the fee is paid by the candidate, the choices provided by the candidate in step 2 will be locked. After this step, the candidates will not be able to make any changes to the list of colleges.
Step 5: Seat allotment
BOPEE will be announcing the allotment of seats in the 3rd week of July, 2023 through the online mode. Allotment of seats will be done according to the candidate’s preference, rank, category and the availability of seats in the college.
Step 6: Reporting
All the selected candidates will be required to report to the allotted college for document verification and other admission formalities before the due date.
One needs to present the following documents for verification to the college:
- Print out copy of the JKCET 2023 application form
- JKCET 2023 marks and rank card
- JKCET 2023 roll number
- Date of Birth
- Category certificate if applicable for the candidate.

Who are Eligible for JKCET 2nd Round Counselling 2023?
Following candidates would be eligible for JKCET 2nd Round Counselling 2023:
- Candidates who join/do not join the course/college will be able to participate in the second round.
- Those candidates who participated in Round I but failed to get allotted due to SNA or CNA.
- Who did not participate in Round 1 or failed to make the online payment.
For Round 2 registration, the candidates will have to be present physically at the BOPEE office and fill their preferences.
Some of the important points related to JKCET 2023 counselling are:
- The first round of counselling will be conducted by the authorities through an online procedure while the 2nd counselling will be conducted offline.
- Candidates will be called in for the counselling on the basis of their ranks which would be published online and in newspapers
- If any candidate does not come at the time of counselling then the specified seat will be allotted to the candidate next in rank.
- If a candidate is kept in the waiting list and his seat is not confirmed, the candidate is entitled to refund of the fee paid.
There are number of government and private colleges in Jammu and Kashmir for which the admissions take place through JKCET 2023, the number of seats available in the colleges vary, however, there are seats reserved for different categories. One can check the number of seats available in the colleges online.
Candidates can also refer to the last year cut off or the colleges and the seats filled as per the rank in the last year counselling details available online.
Note: One should make sure to select the preference of colleges very carefully as this is the most important criteria based on which the seats will be allotted.
One should also make sure to attend the counselling on time. This will prevent the chances of missing the seat in the prefer college. One should also abode by the date and should bring along all the documents to the college and at the time of JKCET counselling 2023.
